Where is Identification Setup?
Go to the Main Menu in Group Mail (above the Toolbar). Click on the Setup Menu and you'll find it listed as Message Setup. Click on the menu item.
What does it do?
This is where you determine what character set should be used to read the message as well as the encoding that should be used to make the message safe for transmission for sending over the Internet.
Character Set
Choose the character set here that corresponds with the language being used to create the messages you are going to be sending. Please note that this selection does not determine how you create the message, rather how it's viewed by your recipients.
Email Message Setup
Encode
Using: Email was designed as a text messaging system where only
standard ASCII values (7bit) would be used to compose the messages. Due
to the popularity of email it is being pushed in all sorts of ways that
were never envisioned when the original protocol was designed. Because
of this some email gateways are unable to process messages that contain
non standard ASCII characters (8bit). If you intend on sending messages
that use either a non English language or contain non alpha-numeric characters
then you need to make sure that you choose a form of encoding that will
protect these characters - otherwise they *MAY* be stripped out of the
message. The current choices available are Printed Quotable and Base 64.
We recommend that you use Printed Quotable encoding as it produces a readable
encoded message. Base64 encoding is typically used for Binary files.
If you know that some of your recipients will not be able to view encoded
messages then you should keep your messages simple and send them using
the None encoding option. This is also true if you are sending messages
to List Servers etc. that do not like MIME.
Wrap Text: If you choose NONE as the encoding option then you can determine if the message should be hard wrapped when it is sent. Some mail systems do not like lines that exceed 80 characters in length - to make sure your message isn't ripped apart by any servers like this you should set your wrap at under 80 characters (we recommend 76).
